The Media Center for Journalist Safety, founded by six media associations in Thailand on Sept. 14, 2020, is producing media identification armbands for reporters who wish to cover the political demonstration on Sept. 19, 2020.

Each media agency can receive up to 20 armbands. While any Thai and foreign correspondent can apply for the armbands, priority will be given to members of the Thai Journalists Association, the Thai Broadcast Journalists Association, and the Society of Online News Providers.

Foreign correspondents and stringers / fixers working for foreign news organizations based in Thailand can apply for the armbands via this link: https://forms.gle/BYjCmEVMux3KfoNw7. Please fill in your honorific, name, name of organization, position, telephone number, Line ID, and photo.

The armbands will be available on Sept. 18. We will contact the applicants when they can pick up the armbands.

When picking up the armbands, please bring the following documents:

  1. Letter of employment issued by your news agency.
  2. Press card or other media credentials issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, or the Public Relations Department.

The Media Center for Journalist Safety will be headquartered at the Thai Journalist Association on Samsen Road. It will open to reporters seeking inquiries and assistance from 9.00 am, Sept. 19, 2020, till the demonstration is over.
